The power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a technology that can help simplify business tasks and create new opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs was the topic of week one of the Birmingham Public Library’s new Grow with Google Small Business Workshop series.

Developed with input from experts at Google, the Grow Your Business with AI-Powered Tools by Google workshop, held last Tuesday, ,May 27 at the Central Library downtown, explained the basics of AI and how AI-powered tools by Google can help small businesses be more efficient, enhance customer experiences, and drive growth.

Grow Your Business with AI-Powered Tools by Google kicked off a monthly Grow with Google business workshop series offered at the Birmingham Public Library from May through October 2025. Each workshop will take place on the fourth Tuesday of the month between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. These workshops are designed to help entrepreneurs and small business owners strengthen their digital presence and connect with customers online.

Meet the Moderator

Each workshop will be led by Gilberto Herrera, a Birmingham-based entrepreneur and the Alabama Digital Coach for the Grow with Google initiative. He’ll be joined by guest speakers who bring firsthand experience using Google’s small business tools.
